This October, Málaga will have the honor of hosting the famous musical “Gypsy”, directed by Antonio Banderas at the Theater Soho.
From October 17th until December 1st, 2024, the musical “Gypsy” directed by famous actor Antonio Banderas, will be presented at the Theater Soho in Málaga.
The “Gypsy” Musical
This musical, one of Broadway’s most beloved works, debuted for the first time in 1959 and was inspired by the memoir of Gypsy Rose Lee, the queen of Burlesque in 1930s America.
Despite the title, the real main character of this show is not Gypsy Rose Lee herself but her mother, Rose, played in this production by musical theater star Marta Ribera.
The story follows a mother determined to turn her two daughters, June and Louise, into stars in the entertainment world. Ultimately, Louise will become one of the most acclaimed burlesque stars in the United States during the 1930s.
