La Ibense, an ice cream parlour in Ronda,, has come up with a heartwarming initiative. They are going to offer free ice cream to cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy. Raúl Rico, the shop owner, highlights that their aim is to provide sweet relief to those experiencing the painful side effects of chemotherapy. Rico initiating this relief plan comes from a personal tragedy that he previously went through.
sweet relief
Rico’s nephew passed away at the age of 17 due to cancer. Ice cream was something that gave his nephew some type of comfort during those difficult moments. He shares that it helps alleviate the mouth sores his nephew had that were caused by chemotherapy. This is what inspired Rico to help others in similar situations using his ice cream business. You can find La Ibense ice cream parlour at the shopping street of La Bola.
Ayuca association partnership
La Ibense currently partner with a local cancer support association called Ayuca. Rico handed 50 vouchers to Ayuca last week during a special event that took place on Thursday. Each voucher equals a 500-ml tub of ice cream and Ayuca will have to distribute these vouchers to cancer patients. This partnership will help attract more patients who can enjoy this sweet little relief. On the voucher, one can see the message of solidarity and support that La Ibense tries to convey. It states that La Ibense, in collaboration with the Ayuca Association, gives this voucher for half a liter of ice cream.
Additionally,, it states that it’s free of charge as it’s a small gesture to give some sweet relief during the side effects of chemotherapy. At the bottom of the voucher, it states to present the voucher at the store to redeem its benefit and find a moment of comfort. La Ibense offers a diverse range of artisan ice cream flavours with attention to dietary needs. Moreover, they serve vegan, sugar alternatives and gluten free choices. Their commitment to inclusivity should be proof enough of how a great business La Ibense is.
