During the Festival de Málaga (6. – 15. March), La Villa del Mar transforms the Playa de la Malagueta into a vibrant seaside hub. From the 7th until 13th of March it brings together cinema lovers, creatives, digital innovators and curious visitors for a programme of talks, workshops, immersive experiences, networking events and live music.
Especially for expats in Málaga, La Villa del Mar is an easy and welcoming way to experience the festival atmosphere. Many activities are open to the public and free of charge, and the relaxed beach setting makes it perfect for meeting people, discovering new trends in audiovisual storytelling, and enjoying Málaga’s creative scene in an international environment.
Alongside workshops and activities, you can enjoy these evening concerts at the beach (all at 6:00 PM):
Saturday 7: Las Dianas
Acid pop meets bright punk. One of Spain’s freshest bands, known for sharp lyrics and bold feminist energy. They present their latest album Ya decidiré mañana (2024).
Sunday 8: García Picasso
A conceptual and visual music experience blending pop, acid house and performance art. An avant-garde DJ set that pushes creative boundaries.
Monday 9: Funkonauts
Modern, high-energy funk inspired by the 70s and dance music. A rhythmic, vibrant live show designed to get the crowd moving.
Tuesday 10: Jose Carra & Raquel Pelayo
A jazz reinterpretation of iconic film melodies. Voice and piano transform classic cinema songs into intimate, improvisational live experiences.
Wednesday 11: Vicky King Band
Rock, soul and blues with powerful vocals and strong stage presence. A dynamic and authentic live performance.
Thursday 12: Ángela Hoodoo
Outlaw country, rhythm & blues and rock’n’roll with a contemporary edge. Hypnotic vocals and an intense live show rooted in American-inspired sound.
