Festijoven, meaning the youth festival in English, is a cultural activity that promotes art and young creation. This youth festival is known as a music and performing arts festival. Festijoven is basically a series of free concerts by young locals that take place in Malaga.
The Department of Education, Youth, and Employment Promotion in Malaga organizes Festijoven. This festival aims to promote emerging young art in the beautiful city of Malaga. Not only does it provide a great alternative to leisure through cultural activities, but it also allows the public to enjoy it for free.
During the beautiful spring month of may, a series of free concerts in different fields will take place. First, the Mini Big Band Insostenible will give a free jazz concert. This concert will take place on Thursday, May 4, starting at 8.45 . Additionally, a flamenco dance performance is scheduled for Thursday, May 11, at 9.15 p.m. Lastly, there will be a Spanish dance performance on Thursday, May 18 at 8.45 .
All these performance shall take place at the Recinto Musical Eduardo Ocón in the center of Malaga. The cool thing about this is that you do not even need any type of ticket. Just come a bit earlier to secure a place and enjoy young talents showing their creations to the public.
Tip: even if you do not attend these performances in May, organisers host others throughout the year. The performances often include contemporary dance, classical dance, jazz, soul, classical music, brass music, rock, hip hop and so on.
