Get a new perspective on Málaga in a treasure hunt

Looking for a different kind of city experience? The treasure hunt invites you to discover Málaga from a completely new perspective. You’ll explore the city’s most important landmarks and cultural highlights, but also uncover secret corners you might otherwise miss. Along the way, you’ll solve riddles and complete playful tasks designed to keep things engaging for everyone.

The experience begins at the fountain on Plaza de la Constitución, where a guide will briefly introduce you to the game and provide all materials, including your “treasure book” and GPS. After a short introduction, you’ll set off on your own, exploring Málaga at your own pace. At the end, you’ll be welcomed back with a real treasure chest waiting for you.

Whether it’s a fun group activity or a unique way to connect and explore together, this treasure hunt turns Málaga into your own adventure. Reservation here.

Learn how to dance Málaga hop

Try something new and learn how to dance lindy hop and swing. On Tuesday, March 24, you have the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of swing. The Lindy Hop class by Málaga Swing is open to everyone aged 18 and over – whether you have previous experience or not. In a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, you’ll learn the basics of this energetic partner dance that originated in the United States in the 1930s and 1940s.

Classes take place once a week and are structured by different levels, so both complete beginners and those with some experience can find their place. You don’t need a fixed dance partner – you can join on your own. A special highlight: at Málaga Swing, you can choose whether you want to take on the leading or following role, regardless of traditional gender roles.

The course is part of a three-month program (January to March), divided into monthly workshops, allowing for gradual and progressive learning. The classes are led by an experienced dance teacher who combines technique, musicality, and, above all, the joy of dancing. More info & sign-up.

Sunday

Do not miss the beginning of Málaga’s famous Semana Santa

With Palm Sunday, Málaga’s most important event of the year begins: Semana Santa. From early morning, the city fills with atmosphere as the first major processions take to the streets, marking the start of this deeply rooted tradition.

One of the highlights of the day is the procession of La Pollinica – a particularly joyful and vibrant procession that commemorates Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem. Its main throne, showing Jesus riding a donkey, is one of the most recognizable images of Palm Sunday and draws large crowds every year.

This day is also special because Málaga’s most famous actor, Antonio Banderas, traditionally takes part in the celebrations. A devoted supporter of Semana Santa, he joins his brotherhood, Lágrimas y Favores de Fusionadas, and walks in their Palm Sunday procession.

Good to know: Due to the processions, many streets across the city will be closed, so it’s best to plan your routes in advance. If you want to follow the processions in real time, you can check updates on the Diario Sur Instagram page or download the app El Penitente to see exactly where each procession is at any moment.

📍 Start: Casa Hermandad
