Discover La Rosaleda Stadium in Málaga before its 2030 renovation. Info about tickets, guided tours, history & what makes it a must-see for football fans.

If you’re a football fan living in Spain—or just visiting—you shouldn’t miss the chance to explore Estadio La Rosaleda in Málaga, a country where football truly is life.

La Rosaleda, a historic attraction for football enthusiasts

La Rosaleda Stadium opened on 14 September 1941 and has space for over 30,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium in the area. The venue famously hosted matches during the 1982 FIFA World Cup, and today it’s the proud home of Málaga CF.
A guided tour offers fans a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and discover the soul of the club and stadium. Here’s what makes it special:

● Walk through the players’ tunnel: Feel the adrenaline rush as you step onto the pitch the same way players do before kick-off.
● VIP area and Presidential Box: Enjoy panoramic views of the stadium from the exclusive VIP sections.
● Málaga CF Museum: Explore historic trophies, memorabilia and iconic moments from over a century of club history.
● Press room and mixed zone: Visit the areas where press conferences and interviews take place.
● Pitch-side experience: End your tour by sitting on the team benches and looking out over the field, soaking up the atmosphere from the players’ perspective.

Personally – it’s an absolute must-see!

Why now is the best time to visit La Rosaleda

La Rosaleda has been officially chosen as one of the venues for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. As a result, the stadium will undergo a major renovation starting in summer 2026, after the end of the 2025/26 season.
The new project aims to modernize the venue and increase its capacity to around 45,000 seats. During the works, Málaga CF will play home games at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium. Many loyal fans—known as “Socios”—aren’t happy about leaving the historic ground, which makes visiting the stadium today even more special. It’s a rare chance to experience the original La Rosaleda before it transforms forever.
