Its the first week of June in Malaga and you wanna try something you have not tried here yet? You want to immerse yourself in a local’s nightlife? Track down the kind of events that are not just targeted to “outsiders” but, those that are adressed to Spaniards? And no, I am not talking about noting down all the places where you can find the best Raggaeton or where the DJ blasts on Cumbia. I am talking about the side of Malaga, holding an “electronic pulse” which can only regulated by techno.

AIREA Colectivo Anniversary at Sala Marte
Introducing one of Malaga’s collectives, AIREA Colectivo. Right after I clicked their pink-balloon icon on Instagram and saw their funky font on their colourful logo, I instantly clicked with them. They frequently pair up with local Pikoteo Club and most recently with Ojosfinos, an Uruguayan that is a co-finder of a part that has earned its spot on the Montevideo scene. This time, on the occasion of celebrating their first anniversary which will mark a short break, after a full year of operration, a unforgettable party is on the agenda. Featuring all the collective’s members, such as GUAL-ICHO and Nukki, it is a very good chance to get a glimpse of what their team is all about!
This farewell party’s location: Sala Marte; the mindset behind Airea and any smaller, underground collective, is a shared common understanding of the concept of “night”. They pride themselves on creating party spaces where people can find one another, all the while filling the gap on days when the scene in Malaga lacks appearances by international-scale entertainers.

Xpansion IDM 003 at Paris15
For this Saturday, I have to include Resident Advisor’s top pick for the week, the finale of the Xpansion series of events. For the first time, a renowned DJ from the British scene is going to be playing at the famous venue, Sala Paris15, which has a great capacity. Don’t miss the chance to see @inigokennedy at work. Having released music and produced under labels such as Token, Asymmetric, and Semantica Records, there is no doubt that his quarter-century of work in the industry is worth the while.
The line- up features Irrational Language and Mario Piccoso, representing the @structured.collective of people of art and entertainment world who use their platform to promote the versatile work of many an artist, spawning from a very broad range of genres and subgenres.
